New Approach, Same Purpose

January 1, 2011

Thank you for visiting our new web site. It is our hope that the new look and the presentation of our ministry is appealing to you. We invite you to comment on our web site and any part of our ministry by going to our contact page and leaving a comment.

Our ministry, coaching churches, has not changed. We have made some adjustments in how we go about approaching church coaching. demoWe have prioritized three coaching areas--preparation (a move toward leadership readiness), leadership (a move toward the search and calling of a pastor), and ministry (a move toward church health). These priorities are the result of the experiences with dozens of churches and pastors.

Church Health--Natural Church Development

January 10, 2011

We are excited about what God is doing world-wide in developing healthy churches. The materials have now been translated in over 40 languages and are or have been used in over 50,000 churches world-wide and 30,000 churches in the US. It is the most widely implemented process in the world.

MinistryConnect is drawing together some pastors from mid-Missouri for an orientation to Natural Church Development, Tuesday, January 18. These pastors represent various faith traditions.  Furthermore, you are invited to bring along another pastor from your local community who you think might be interested.

You will be provided a complimentary lunch and a paperback copy of the ABCs of Natural Church Development. We will be meeting in a central location, Room 508, of First Baptist Church, 301 E. Capitol Avenue, Jefferson City.

Our services are comprised of six (4) broad areas:
· Church Coaching

· Resources
Pastor Search Guide
Other search products: surveys, profiles, etc.
TheSHAPE
· Research
Complete background checks in credit, education, employment, civil and criminal areas

2. How much do you charge for your church services?
· It is easy to figure the cost.  The basic package is 5% of the annual compensation package and the premium package is 10%.
· Almost all of the coaching services and expenses are included in the package.  If a church desires additional coaching visits (not included in the package) all expenses are to be paid by the church. These include transportation ($.585 per mile in 2009) or cost of air travel. Rental car is optional if the church chooses to provide the ground transportation. Lodging and meals are expenses, and the coach is always willing to work with the church on the best arrangements.

Questions That Professional Staff Often Ask

1. Who do you consider professional staff?
That term means to us all clergy who serve churches and Christian organizations in any position. They may be full-time or part-time. Bi-vocational is another term for the latter. These may be paid staff or unpaid, volunteer staff persons.

2. Why do you choose the term "professional staff?
We choose that rather than the word "minister" since we believe the term "minister" can apply to laypeople based on the Bible. Since we have products and services that include laypersons in the church, we have tried to make the difference distinct.

3. What services do you offer "professional staff"?
Our services are comprised of three (2) broad areas:
· Resources
· Church Coaching
